Our Fall Wedding: I Do 10/22

In honor of getting our professional wedding photos back last week I thought it would be fun to write a blog post about or wedding day! (And show of some of these beautiful pictures! All the heart eyes over these!)

We got married on October 22nd, 2016. It was a beautiful fall day that couldn't have been any better. We were very lucky with the weather, late October in the Midwest can really go either way and we were grateful it was warm enough that our guests didn't need to wear a coat and there was no rain! We got married at Allerton Park in Monticello, Illinois which I like to call a hidden gem of central Illinois. Seriously, if you haven't been it is so worth the trip! It's a beautiful park and retreat center sprawling over 1,500 acres. There are plenty of gardens and paths to walk (you can even bring your dog!) you really could spend the whole day exploring. One of the most popular spots to get married at Allerton are the Sunken Gardens. It is just that, a sunken garden with lush green grass and beautiful stone work and pine trees lining the entire garden. The Sunken Gardens are perfect for a wedding because you really don't need to add much to it. All we added were two columns at the start of the aisle and some rose petals and flowers along the aisle and it was gorgeous.

Our reception was also at Allerton Park in their two story dutch hay barn. Brian is a country boy so this was right up his alley! The barn had beautiful string lights hanging from the ceiling and had a very rustic feel. Our theme was rustic-glam; our colors were marsala, gold, and blush. The tables had marsala colored napkins and and gold sequin table runners. For our flowers we mixed in blush with the marsala colored flowers. It really was the perfect mix of my style and Brian's.

Take a look at some of the pictures below and let me know what you think! I'd love to hear about your wedding day or what theme you chose for your special day in the comments!
