Loft Staircase Renovation
Hey friends! Sorry I've been MIA for a bit but I wanted to share with you a project Brian and I have been working on the past couple of weeks! When we moved into our house the master bedroom had this really cool and unique wooden spiral staircase that, while we loved it, just wasn't practical for our needs. The staircase was bulky, narrow, and too close to the bedroom door. So during our renovation we decided to take the staircase apart so we could get our new carpet installed and then later on we would build new stairs to the loft. Well that later on is now! The project is finally complete and we couldn't be happier with the results. The stairs are still a little steep but because of the location and what we were working with, this was the best solution for our budget and lifestyle.
For the stairs, I chose to match the paint colors to the staircase going up to the second floor as well. I think it really helps tie the house together and keep a seamless style throughout. The open stairs also help bring more light into the room and makes the staircase feel less bulky and intrusive. Not to mention now you won't hit your head on them right when you walk into the room! lol For those wondering about the carpet, we purchased it from Meyer's Carpet Weavers and it's the Caress by Shaw Floors collection in Angora III. The carpet is super soft and lush and absolutely amazing!
The loft will eventually be used as my office. I am still looking for the perfect desk so stay tuned in a couple weeks when I will blog an office reveal! I've already found some amazing and girly pieces that I can't wait to share with you guys! We still have paint to touch up, but check out the pictures below for some before, during, and after shots of the staircase renovation and let me know what you think in the comments! You'll also notice Harley makes an appearance in a couple shots! :)
